The purpose of this study is to determine the
percentage of aspiration and silent aspiration in the dementia population to
determine the need to utilize a modified barium swallow test as an assessment
tool especially with dementia individuals with severe chronic wounds or post
surgery.
Ok Bedoor, good, but you will need to do more than just determine the percentage of aspiration and silent aspiration; this could be one aspect of it (or one research question). The purpose statement as it stands is a bit wordy; to determine... to determine is too much. Since determining the percentage would really be one piece, I might suggest taking that out altogether and letting the purpose statement capture the bigger picture. How else can you determine the need to utilize the MBS?
